A Touch of History

Archaeological findings prove that the history of Kos dates back to prehistoric times. These lands, where many civilizations such as the Greeks, Persians, Romans, Slavs, Arabs, Venetians, Genoese, Byzantines, and Ottomans lived, bear significant traces of history. The fact that the ancient healer Hippocrates, considered the father of medicine, was born on Kos Island further enhanced the island's fame.

Despite having many beaches close to the center, those who want to enjoy the sea more can visit the seaside towns of Marmari, Tigaki, and Lambi, which have 5-star resorts with miles-long white sandy beaches. Lastly, seafood such as squid and octopus, gyro which can be considered the Greek version of our kebab, and the unique flavor of sweet tomato jam, are just a few of the tastes you must try on Kos.
